Emily was once an empress, however, due to some twists of fate, her throne was taken from her. Corvo, a former bodyguard, now turned assassin may have foreseen this as he trained Emily for 15 years for fear that their enemies will come back. With the skill that Emily has right now, she must do everything to regain her throne. She has also seen the corruption that the current ruler is doing. So she is motivated by “a need to take back the empire so that she can do right be the people”.

Emily possesses abilities that are way beyond imagination. Her Far Reach is like a “Supernatural grapple” that allows her to pull or catapult herself or pull her enemies close to her. Domino is another of her great abilities that allows her to connect the fates of characters in the game. Shadow Walk is one of the most supernatural. It allows Emily to transform into a strange shadow-like creature and cause great havoc, then go back to her normal self once again. The Doppelganger ability allows Emily can confuse her enemies by creating a reflection of herself. This can be upgraded to the doppelganger that is able to harm an enemy. Another skill to watch out for is her ability to mesmerize a crowd.
