Beware, the servers for this game have been closed for about two years. The studio tried to take it F2P, but it didn’t turn out well, and they shut it down, despite a loyal (if small) fan base.

The most you can do (I think) is play locally against a nearly unbeatable skirmish tutorial bot. That’s what I THINK I remember hearing, anyway; but if that relied on the master server in some way, then you won’t even be able to do that.

I can’t think of another game out there that compares to the FORGE experience; Lichdom Battlemage and Ziggurat both kind of feature a similar look and feel, BUT they’re both singe-player–and both good–but not so much if you were looking forward to FORGE’s PvP.
