Here’s what Andy Kelly experienced in the first hour:
At the start of the game, Kate wakes up in a room that is locked with her very first puzzle. The puzzle is how to open the locked room by fixing the broken call button. “The door is locked, and the call button doesn’t seem to be working, which means it’s puzzle time,” the post read. “Then I spin it around and reveal instructions on the side on how to repair it. The only problem is that the box is sealed. I need something to open it up, I scour the room for the solution, noticing a steaming bowl of stew a knife on the side. I slide the knife into four screws, rotating the analog stick to loosen them, and pop the box open, revealing a loose wire that I reconnect to a power source.”
After escaping the room, Kate then finds that she is in a “large communal area” of the facility. She then looks for the office of the person in charge of the Asylum and asks to be set free. For some reason, she gets strapped to a lie detector and eventually gets a weird key. This is another puzzle for you to solve.
Comparing to other Syberia games, Syberia 3 offers a “kind of seamless interaction with the environment [which] is a benefit of the shift to 3D, and there are even rudimentary physics.”
“Getting new players on board” is quite a problem since Syberia 3 follows the story of the first two games. Due to Syberia’s captivating story, it has garnered quite a fanbase. Hopefully, like Syberia 2, this will also give a recap of the previous game in order for new players to understand the story.
Syberia 3 launches on April 20 in Europe and April 25 in Northern America. Play the game on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
