The decision to remove Roger Jr is because of the viral video of a man punching a kangaroo in order to save his dog, according to Mr. Harada.
“There was a video of a man’s dog being head-locked by a kangaroo, and he punched it in the face. It turned into a big problem,” said Harada. “People were complaining about him punching a kangaroo. It seems that in the last few years there’s a lot more animal activists – even though they probably wouldn’t play our game they would still hear about a kangaroo in our game being punched, and would complain about it.”
Only Roger Jr is leaving. Other animal fighters like Kuma the bear is staying.
Tekken 7 launches on June 2, 2017, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
