IMPORTANCE OF PLAYSTATION TO ACTIVISION BEING DOWNPLAYED BY MICROSOFT

 

Microsoft is still working on acquiring Activision Blizzard for a whopping $69 billion deal. Due to an investigation by the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Microsoft claims that Activision is not very important to Sony and PlayStation as compared to other publishers.

  Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard $69 Billion  

Microsoft is being investigated as they are trying to acquire Activision Blizzard for the record-breaking deal. They even added that Sony would benefit more from EA, Ubisoft and Take-Two rather than Activision Blizzard.

According to Microsoft’s statement, “Sony has 286 games which are exclusive to PlayStation,” and also Sony would rather launch first-party titles as PlayStation exclusives like Marvel’s Spiderman: Miles Morales and God of War.

Sony answered Microsoft’s claim by saying that The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield games were not planned as Xbox exclusives however it became that way when Microsoft acquired Bethesda. Sony also added that that would also be the case for Call of Duty when Microsoft acquires Activision.

The deadline for CMA’s decision on whether Microsoft can acquire Blizzard has been delayed to May 22.
