Anno 1800 is a Semi-Exclusive EPIC Gamestore Game!

Anno 1800 has jumped into the Epic Game Store bandwagon, however, it will only be a semi-exclusive game for the platform. The game will still be available on Steam though, but only until the game launches on April 16th. After the game launches, you can purchase it on the Epic Game Store or on Ubisoft’s own storefront.

We can already see a notice posted in the Steam Anno 1800 game page saying that they will stop selling the game after it launches. But you will still be able to get future updates and DLCs at the same time with the other storefronts. Players who opt to purchase the game on Steam can still play with other players since it runs on Uplay.

Since you will be purchasing the game before it launches on Steam, it will be a pre-ordered game. And some are on the fence when it comes to making pre-orders. Also, an open beta will be available for Anno 1800 which will be on April 12-14. The only thing is, the beta will only be available through Uplay and the Epic Games Store.
