Battlefield 1 December Update Brings New Modes, Options, DLC and More
The contents of the Battlefield 1 December Update is revealed. This includes the game’s newest DLC called Giant’s Shadow. If you pre-ordered the game or if you own the Premium Pass, the Battlefield 1 Giant’s Shadow DLC is available on December 13th. And for everybody else who owns Battlefield 1, this will come as a free update on December 20th.
The Giant’s Shadow DLC brings a new map based on the Battle of Selle in the 1918’s. It is a huge map that features an open ground with an enormous crashed airship blanketing it, some river banks, as well as the Cateau-Wassigny railway. Also, a new gadget is made available, the Grenade Crossbow. This new gadget is specifically made for the Support Class. Players will also get to see a new armored train in the game.
The update also brings about the Spectator Mode. This will allow players to observe matches that are either in first-person or in third-person camera view. There is a bird’s eye view of everything that is happening as well as a free cam also available. The Spectator Mode allows the players to create their very own videos using different camera angles, filters, and depth of field.
Also added to the game is a new Custom Game option called the Standard Issue Rifle. This will create a new variety of experience in the match by granting access to all classes’ faction’s standard issue rifles. This new option can be turned on and off as you wish.
One of the other major changes brought by the Battlefield 1 December update in the game is the shotgun balance.
“Some shotguns were unintentionally strong at certain distances and to address this we reduced the range for the buckshot variants of the M97 Trench Gun, Model 10-A, and Sawed Off Shotgun, reducing the maximum one-hit kill distance,” as explained in the post.
