During PAX West, Gearbox Software was able to share more details about their upcoming game, Borderlands 3. One thing that they were able to reveal is that the Vault Hunter Mode that was previously in Borderlands 2 is making a comeback. Also, a new endgame called Mayhem will be added to the game. A few more post-launch plans had been added as well.

The New Game Plus Mode for Borderlands is called True Vault Hunter. This can be unlocked when you complete the main campaign. Players would get to replay the whole game but this time around keeping your progression. But of course, enemy stats and numbers are also boosted, some even having significant changes.

The new Mayhem Mode will come to play with The Vault Hunter. This Mode will allow players to battle rounds of enemies to gain XP and loot rewards. This will also unlock the Guardian Rank system that gives players stat boost as they rank up.

Other post-launch plans that Gearbox was able to share is found on a mini roadmap. We are able to see a few free content updates and a paid DLC with a time frame of arriving from launch date up until the end of the year. The first content update is called Bloody Harvest Event which is probably a Halloween content. The next one is Maliwan takedown which will come with a new map, a new boss as well as new enemies to kill. No details were given for the paid DLC though.

Borderlands 3 will be launching on September 13, available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
