Assassin’s Creed Origins director Ashraf Ismail revealed to GameInformer the new features of their upcoming game. There is a lot to be excited about, he did mention some information about an eagle scout, upgrading weapons, naval battles as well as the game’s city size and much more.
Expect naval combat in Assassin’s Creed Origins, but not like those in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. Ismail said, “There are other Naval Combat opportunities, something closer to what we had on Black Flag but for now we’re not going into too much detail.”
According to Ismail, one of the main cities in the game is quite big. This is called the city of Memphis and as compared to the city of Alexandria, Memphis is just a bit smaller. And if you compare it to Havana in Black Flag, Memphis is actually twice the size of that.
Ismail said that they were able to fill every location in the map with quests that give the city its own uniqueness.
Senu is an eagle scout that is very helpful to you. He is able to scan new locations for you. However, Senu is not actually chained to the main character Bayek in any way. Senu can fly far away and return whenever he wants.
There are lots and lots of tombs to explore especially since the game is set in Egypt.
Ismail said,” we have a ton of tombs. They’re super cool. We run the gamut of puzzles, navigation puzzles, navigation challenges, some combat challenges. There’s a lot of different tombs with a lot of different flavors. Yes, there are traps in some, there are hidden secrets. We tried to have fun with tombs, there’s a ton of tombs in the game.”
There will be many ways to upgrade your weapons in Assassin’s Creed Origins. Ismail said that the players are able to bring your weapons to the blacksmith and upgrade with in-game money. You can also pick up items all over the world.
A crafting system was added which allows you to improve Bayek’s abilities like increasing his defense and damage stats.
