Since Hideo Kojima announced the game Death Stranding, a lot of people were curious as to what it is. This is the very first game from Kojima after Konami. It had been a very mysterious game although some of the mystery had been lifted because of the various trailers, screenshots, and gameplay videos.

There had been quite a few media outlets that were able to play the game and were able to share what they thought about it. With just their reviews, we can’t fully grasp what the game is really about, but at least we will know if the critics liked what they have seen.

Check out the Death Stranding critics review round up below:

DESTRUCTOID — 8/10

“Impressive effort with a few noticeable problems holding it back. Won’t astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.”

– Chris Carter

EUROGAMER — Recommended

“Hideo Kojima’s first post-Metal Gear game is a messy, indulgent vanity project – but also a true original.”

– Oli Welsh

GAME INFORMER — 7/10

“It’s the normal Kojima mix of twists-and-turns, tropes, and overbearing themes, but at least I like that it explores real-world topics like the theory of multiple dimensions and key events in the history of the planet’s biodiversity.”

– Matthew Kato

GAMESPOT — 9/10

“It’s a game that requires patience, compassion, and love, and it’s also one we really need right now.”

– Kallie Plagge

IGN — 6.8/10

“Death Stranding delivers a fascinating world of supernatural sci-fi, but its gameplay struggles to support its weight.”

– Tristan Ogilvie

KOTAKU — Unscored

“It’s hard not to like Sam Bridges, who faces all of Death Stranding’s bizarreness with a welcome everyman’s weariness, encapsulated in Norman Reedus’ characteristic growl.”

– Heather Alexandra

POLYGON — Unscored

“After years of wondering what Death Stranding actually is, I can finally report that it’s a game composed entirely of fetch quests. Forty-plus hours of that may sound like torture, but shockingly, it’s actually pretty damn fun once it gets out of its own way.”

– Russ Frushtick

As you may have read in the reviews, you can either really like the game or not. Its gameplay may not be for everyone and depending on the audience, the game’s story sometimes tends to get dragging.

If you’re still not sure whether to play or not to play the game, go ahead and read the complete articles of the reviews to have a better understanding of it.
