Details of Final Fantasy Stormblood Story Skip and Level Boost
Square Enix announced a Final Fantasy Stormblood story skip and level boost option. If you are one of those players who would want to skip ahead and not completely play through the game’s story, then this is for you. But of course, this workaround does not come for free.

The expansion’s early access starts on June 16 and during this time players are able to purchase a job level boost for $25.00. The job level boost will allow a single job to be purchased per account, until this year’s release of the patch 4.1.However, that is not all. Players must also purchase the “scenario shortcut item” also called the story skip in order to get the level boost. The story skip comes in two versions:
- Skip through the main quests of the original Final Fantasy 14 game – $18.00
- Skip through the main quests of the original Final Fantasy 14 game, plus all the quests from the Heavensward expansion – $25.00
Here’s a statement from Square Enix about the prices posted:“The concept was that those two items combined would equal to the cost of one full game… We wanted to give the impression that it is a little bit more pricey. We didn’t want people to freely obtain these items and just skip over content willy-nilly,” said in a statement to Polygon by Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida. Yoshida adds, “We wanted to provide this as a choice but not make it something that’s mandatory for all of our players to pick up. We don’t want to give the impression that it’s cheap, and everyone should go but it.” Final Fantasy 14 Stormblood officially launches on June 20 available for PC and PlayStation 4.
