During Blizzcon 2016’s opening ceremony was the announcement of Diablo III’s latest DLC The Rise of the Necromancer Pack.
If you are a fan of the Diablo series, you would know that the Necromancer character is actually a returning character and not a new one. The character came from Diablo II.
The Necromancer or as they are also called Priests of Rathma originated from the isolated Jungles of Kehjistan. Their unique powers came from death itself and they hold in their hands the power to preserve the balance of life and death. One of the cool skills of Necromancer is being able to make corpses explode.
Other skills that a Necromancer has up their sleeves are Bone Spear, Siphon Blood, Blood Rush, and Summon Skeleton. The Necromancer character is in fact in the early stages of its development. The devs said they plan to have a male and female Necromancer as shown in the concept art below.
To compare the Necromancer to a Witch Doctor. The Witch Doctor has a “more light-hearted take on supernatural powers”. While the Necromancer is more serious and have a very dark practice.
There is no specific date for the Rise of the Necromancer pack, however, it has been announced for sometime in 2017. The pack includes the playable character Necromancer, an in-game pet, two additional character slots, two additional stash tabs, a portrait frame, a banner, a pennant and banner sigil.
