GTA 5 Reaches Milestone in Sales

GTA 5 has reached a record high in sales and Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive are celebrating.

GTA V SALES ANNOUNCED IN EARNINGS CALL

GTA V stands as the most successful entertainment product and still continues to do so even though it launched in 2013.

Take Two’s recent earnings call shared that the game has earned $1.1 billion in revenue as well as $1 billion in bookings for Q1 2022.

5 million copies have been sold in Q1 and the player count of GTA Online has increased by 49% since the COVID-19 pandemic.

GTA was able to sell more than 170 million units across PC, Xbox and PlayStation making it the fastest entertainment launch to hit $1 billion in sales.

GTA V SETS BENCHMARKS FOR GTA 6

Because of the success of GTA 5, Rockstar is taking their time with GTA 6.

Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive said that the “Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases.”

As of right now, there is no release date for GTA 6. Rockstar and Take-Two are aware that expectations are high for the next GTA, and they would want to deliver the best game that they can.
