In Just 5 Days, Borderlands 3 Sells More Than 5 Million
Although 2K has done a lot of questionable things leading to Borderlands 3 like making the game an Epic Games Store timed-exclusive for PC and that whole issue where a YouTuber got harassed by some private investigators sent by 2K, everything actually went well with the game.
2K Games proudly announced that their latest game, Borderlands 3 was able to sell more than 5 million copies in just 5 days. To give you a better idea of how huge a deal this is, that is more than what Borderlands 2 has sold in its lifetime. That huge sale in just 5 days was able to generate a revenue of one billion US dollars.
Also, Borderlands 3 has broken some records with its huge sales. The game is the highest pre-ordered game of any 2K title ever recorded for the Epic Games Store. The game was also able to get the top spot in views on Twitch at launch. It was able to generate more than 14 million hours of watch time on the platform.
David Ismailer, the president of 2K has said that their success was thanks to their long-standing partnership with Gearbox Software. He also did thank the Borderlands community saying that “their passion for the series is what drives us to make each game an amazing experience.”
Borderlands 3 is now available for PC via the Epic Games Store and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
