The Outer Worlds from Obsidian Entertainment is set to launch next week. This offers a space, role-playing, adventure that is based on Fallout New Vegas. Players who are wanting to get more out of the game for their premium consoles are probably wondering what enhancements are available for it.

To answer the question, Private Division had been contacted by Windows Central and they had gotten an odd answer. Evidently, 4K support will only be available for the Xbox One X but not on the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Admittedly, the Xbox One X is the powerful one as compared to the PlayStation 4 Pro. But usually, when the Xbox One X gets a 4K enhancement, the PlayStation 4 Pro at least would get some kind of upscaled resolution. Resolution is just resolution, and there isn’t any real effect on the gameplay but owners of the PlayStation 4 Pro could be expecting something extra on their premium console.

Something similar happened before with the game We Happy Few. If you remember, the game had 4K resolution on the Xbox One X but just 1080p on the PlayStation 4 Pro. Do note that the developer of We Happy Few, Compulsion Games and the developer of The Outer Worlds, Obsidian Entertainment are both under the Xbox Game Studios. Both games had not been published by Microsoft though, but both had already been in development before the studios had been acquired.

The Outer Worlds will be launching on October 25 available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
