The F1 2020 game will still release as planned unlike the F1 season which has been postponed because of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Because of the postponement of the season, there will be replacement tracks however, that will not be available in the game.

Other races are expected to drop out because of the pandemic two replacement races that are being thought of are the Mugello and Portimao. These will not make it to the F1 2020 the game because of time constraints though.

Lee Mather the Game Director said in an interview with Gpblog.com that, “Circuits are the most time-intense element of the development, with each circuit taking the time equivalent of 1 year of development to create.”

Mather then added that when it comes to developing circuits there are other factors to consider. “Along with building the circuits, there’s also the AI to train, the camera placement to set-up.”

Because of all the uncertainty that the world is facing right now, the sports calendar for the year has been affected as well, Mather simply said that it is not possible to add new circuits to the revised 2020 season”. It’s really sad that the season has been delayed, especially when you think about the new tracks that were announced for it like the Hanoi Circuits and Circuit Zandvoort.

Even though the track replacements won’t be available, it shouldn’t make the game less appealing as it does look like an amazing game with its new modes, updated graphics as well as new modes, updated graphics as well as new circuits.

F1 2020 will be launching on July 10, 2020, available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
