Outward Split-screen Co-op Talked About By Devs!
The developers at Nine Dots Studio recently talked about their Outward split-screen co-op during an interview with Gamingbolt. Split-screen co-op is a bit rare for games nowadays, let’s find out why the devs decided to add that the game.
CEO of Nine Dots as well as the creative lead on the game Outward, Guillaume Boucher-Vidal shared that he had really great memories of playing games on split-screen with his friends or with his brother. He was also able to enjoy some shooter games with his wife through split-screen like Gears of War and Army of Two.
Guillaume further shares that “Truth be told, the inclusion of split screen in Outward was an extremely difficult challenge, both from a design and technical perspective. We had to make heavy sacrifices to make it work. Making it happen in our game made us understand why it was so rare nowadays, but that’s exactly why we should be doing it. Games need to offer something unique to distinguish themselves from the rest on the market.”
It is quite nice to think that you are able to build fond memories with others through a game via split-screen, especially family members or loved ones.
Outward is set to launch on March 26, 2019, available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
