4. Valkyria Chronicles 4
Valkyria Chronicles 4 has been shipped from Japan to the western shores even though the second and third games are yet to arrive. This is because the fourth game continues the story of the first, a strategic move by Sega. The game’s story unfolds like a storybook style. It also has a combat hybrid of a turn-based strategy video game plus third-person shooting. Not a standard RPG but it is definitely worth playing.
5. Ni No Kuni 2 Revenant Kingdom
This second outing of Ni No Kuni had so many changes that fans had been a bit skeptical. But in the end, it has become a really enjoyable RPG. The combat has been changed to real-time hack-n-slash. Monster collecting has been removed instead, you will get to recruit some Higgledies, that you can use in combat. And as always the game’s art style will draw you in.
6. Dragon Quest 11 Echoes of an Elusive Age
This is the eleventh game to come out of the game’s series and it is very popular in Japan. You will get to play four active characters, each having their own strengths and weaknesses, giving you the chance to mix and match to create your team. A unique crafting system has also been added which is greatly enjoyable.
7. Kingdom Come Deliverance
This game focuses on historical accuracy and realism instead of the usual magic and supernatural forces. The game has a first-person view with an amazing sound design and music. Get to play a blacksmith’s son named Henry who starts with a quest for vengeance and ultimately ends up saving the kingdom.
8. Vampyr
Get immersed in the early 1900’s that is set in London. The story revolves around a doctor that was recently turned into a vampire. He still has his wits to himself and is able to balance both his calling to save lives and his thirst for blood. Any action that you make will have an equal consequence which will be reflected in the game’s story.
9. The Bard’s Tale 4 Barrows Deep
The humorous dungeon-crawling adventure features a world that has intricate puzzles as well as dangerous enemies. Both the music and sound design are exceptional. And the combat system has been greatly improved. This is a game that fans of the series would love to come back to.
10. Pathfinder Kingmaker
This is a cRPG set in the tabletop Pathfinder universe. It has a wide range of classes, spells, powers as well as class abilities. You would have to claim your throne, expand your kingdom, and keep your enemies.
