PHASMOPHOBIA BEGINNER’S GUIDE
Players will be visiting different hunted locations and collect evidence of paranormal activity. The game supports up to 4 players.
Using crucifixes, ghost cameras, blacklights, and electromagnetic fields (EMF) readers will be done to collect evidence which in turn can earn you money.
If you are brave enough, you can play the game alone, but you can also share the experience by playing with up to three friends.
Playing alone would have you starting as in the Lobby where you get to choose a location and then choose Start.
If you would rather play with friends, you can either join someone’s game in the Server Lobby, or entering a code given to you, or creating a new Lobby where you can invite others to join.
There are numerous aspects of the game that are amazing but, one thing that stands out is the in-game push-to-talk voice chat.
The voice chat will allow you to talk to the other ghost hunters. By default the key “V” allows you to talk to those in range, and the key “B” for you to use your radio to communicate with them.
Keep in mind that ghosts can also hear you, they react to certain words, and if there are a lot of talking happening, this may cause you to become the one who is hunted.
It is recommended to download the English language pack in Windows as well as set the voice recognition to English.
Another thing that you must understand is that the game as mention is still in its Early Access which means that there are still some bugs, especially in the chat department.
If you are having a hard time hearing the other players, make sure that everyone has their microphone set in default in Windows and in the game.
It is also recommended that the game be put in the windowed mode instead of using alt-tab to restart the round if you would need to.
First, you must read the instructions placed on the whiteboard in the truck. Make sure that you understand every objective because completing each one would mean more money to earn.
The truck will have all the items that you purchased. Every person in the team can equip three items at a time. If you are already out and decided that you would need a different item, you can always go back to the truck and swap it out.
EMF Reader – Shows ghost activities:
Level 2: Interaction
Step 3: Throwing
Step 4: Appearance
Step 5: Proof of your diary
Diary – Put it down so that ghosts write something in it
Torch – Let there be light
UV torch – Makes fingerprints visible
Camera – Take a picture of the ghost
Night vision camera – places it in the house to watch what is happening in the truck
Completing a couple of missions will earn you enough money to purchase more items for the hunt.
Make sure to read and understand every mission as it will help you decide on your next equipment purchase.
Every round in the game will start in your truck, here you get to read up on what you need to do as well as equip yourself. You will also get other information like the ghost’s name and if it attacks or not.
It is highly recommended that someone in your group would carry a thermometer, crucifix, and incense sticks in the early missions.
Other useful things that the truck offers are information about the sanity of your group, and the activity levels of ghosts.
A PC with a camera is at your disposal and it can see “ghost orbs” or you can just use it to check on your teammates.
Remember to pick up the key beside the PC before a new mission.
Jump off the truck to start your mission. To start, you will only have five minutes to set up the proper equipment before the ghosts start to appear.
The best way to locate ghost activity is by splitting up, each member must remember to use the tools they have equipped to record the activity.
If you stumble upon a room that potentially has some ghosts, you can try and speak to them via the spirit box (radio).
You can also get answers from them via the ouija board, spirit book and a whiteboard.
Some strategies will cause ghosts to be aggressive. There are a lot of things that can happen when they become aggressive, the lights could go out, your communication cut, and nobody will be able to hear your screaming for help.
Occasionally, the lights in the location that you are exploring, e.g. a building will go out, you must look for the fusebox to have it working again.
Having the lights on will work wonders on your sanity levels. This will also keep you alive and keep the ghosts at bay.
If by chance you die in the game, you can continue as a ghost. You won’t be able to communicate with your team though.
COMPLETE THE ORDER
Complete each challenge by finding the correct ghost and correctly identifying it. Remember that each member of your team must input the same information into the diary to gain the most profits.
Completing each mission will earn you experience points that can unlock new items and difficulty levels.
