PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Sales Hit 2 Million, Plus New Features Revealed
Still under the Early Access title, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds sales reach a whopping 2 million. Good job!
“One of the main reasons we were able to hit this sales milestone is that we have a dedicated community who has helped us refine PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,” said Bluehole INC.’s CEO Kim Gang Seok.
To celebrate this amazing feat, Bluehole held a live stream via Twitch seeking to raise $100,000 for the benefit f the Gamers Outreach charity. This charity aims to give games and tech to children in hospitals.
“We felt invitational was a great way to give back and are pleased to make this small contribution to the cause. We are glad to support Gamers Outreach in their mission to provide recreation to hospitalized children and help their families cope with long term treatment,” added Kiim.
To add to this spectacular milestones, Bluehole shared new features that are apart of the next update. Included are:
- A system that will clamp down stream sniping, which will stop streamers from getting harassed while they broadcast their gameplay.
- Ping limitations to reduce lag
Get to expect PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on consoles in the future. This would include PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, no specific time-frame was given for this project according to Bluehole.
“We have a team working already on looking to post it to at least the Xbox [One]… we’re looking at both consoles of course, but we have no time-frame for both,” said PLAYERUNKNOWN, Bendan Greene.
Surely the game’s sales will shoot up once it is available on consoles. Congratulations PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for your huge success.
