Industry Insider, Tom Henderson is known for leaks that are true, especially for games like Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042. His latest leak is that Sony is working on a PS5 “pro” controller.

is there a new PS5 controller?

The code name of the project is said to be “Hunt” and that the controller is said to have special features like “removable analog sticks, trigger stops, and rear buttons (flappy paddles).”

If what is reported is true then, the new Sony controller will be at par with the Xbox controllers. It is also said that there are some PlayStation controller issues that will be fixed.

One of the issues mentioned is the “stick drift” for the PlayStation DualSense which is experienced in both the PS4 and PS5 controllers.

  new PS5 controller leaked?

Removable analog sticks would mean that it will be a simple and inexpensive way to fix stick drifts instead of purchasing a new DualSense controller.

The new PS5 controller comes with removable grips so that it will be easier to hold the controller.

  PS5 vs Xbox Series X

The current DualSense controller will have a “significant” software upgrade as well but we don’t know what that upgrade includes as of the moment.

No other information is available right now, but according to the rumors, Sony could be making an official announcement about it by July of this year.
