Not long ago, Sony announced that PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers could watch Sony Pictures Films without advertisements directly from their console. We are now past the middle of the month, and the prominent electronics company has unveiled another perk that is sure to excite PS Plus Premium members, particularly after a significant recent price increase.

Premium members, say hello to PlayStation Cloud Streaming!

You can start playing select games without the need to download them. According to Sony, in-game purchases and downloadable content (DLC) will also be available in the streaming service.

To enhance the premium feel of this new benefit, subscribers can stream PS5 games at resolutions of up to 4k with 60 FPS and either SDR or HDR output. Enhanced audio accompanies this feature, with support for all PS5 audio functions, including 5.1 and 7.1, as well as the Tempest 3D Audiotech.

The PS5 Cloud Streaming service also allows premium subscribers to record up to 3 minutes of video and capture screenshots, which will be saved in the Media Gallery on the PS5 console and the PS App.

This new service will be available when PlayStation 5 is launched. Although there are no announcements regarding when it will be available for PlayStation 4 and the upcoming PlayStation Portal, we expect the service to become accessible on these platforms in the future.

When will PlayStation Cloud Streaming launch?

This new free benefit for PS Plus members will be available in three different regions on three different dates.

It commences in Japan on October 17, 2023, followed by European countries on October 23, 2023. Towards the end of the month, it will be accessible in North America on October 30, 2023.
