PUBG Second Anniversary Freebie Is A Dusty Old Cap!
The PUBG second anniversary is now upon us! That is right, it is now year 2 for the once revolutionary battle royale game, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. A letter had been posted by the studio in their official site to thank the fans for their support for the game as well as to take a look back to what they were able to accomplish in the previous year:
We get to be informed about the dev’s plans in the posted letter. They are talking about adding a new Training Mode, two new maps, as well as launching the game on the consoles’ PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. CH Kim, PUBG Corp CEO talked about his highlight of the year which he says is the PGI 2018 that was held in Berlin. This was the first official esport event that PUBG organized themselves which was able to show the game’s potential as part of esports.
Get to watch Kim’s anniversary message below:
Also, in order to thank the players, the devs are giving away a free in-game item. It is a dusty denim cap that has a winged “number 2” patch in the front. Those playing on PC can go to the in-game store and “purchase” this for free when update no. 27 arrives. It will only be available up until April 24th. For those playing on consoles, you just need to log in from April 9 to May 7 in order to get the item.
PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds officially launched on December 2017 but had been available as an Early Access game since March. Since then, the game has had a lot of tough competition from new entries for the genre. For right now, we are not sure how long the game could stay relevant since new titles like Apex Legends from Respawn become sensations overnight.
The creator of the game, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene has announced that he will be moving on to other projects and will only continue with PUBG as a consulting creative director. PUBG Corp will surely have their work cut out for them.
