According to Rockstar the reason for the delay is that they would want to ensure that they can “deliver the best experience possible to [their] fans.” Rockstar also added that they are very sorry for the delay and that they would want to deliver a game that is complete. The delayed game is made specifically for the next generation consoles.

More details about the game will be released by this coming summer. So until then, we have to sit tight and wait. However, while waiting, Rockstar has provided us with some Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots of the game. Hopefully, these will somewhat cheer us up with the sad news of the game’s delay.
