The livestream started with Jill in the Redstone Subway Station, showing us what we already knew, which is that the game will continue with the over-the-shoulder camera style that we saw implemented so brilliantly with the Resident Evil 2 remake, giving the game a claustrophobic feel.
Immediately we were shown that the game features breakable boxes that can be destroyed to find items and supplies such as bullets, a mechanic that Resident Evil 2 did not have. Whether breakable boxes are for you or not, the combat knife that Jill carries was revealed to not have durability, meaning you can stab and break things without the fear of it breaking.
The livestream took us outside the station and just as with the Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil 3 has had a visual makeover to modernize the look and feel of the world with zombies uglier, meaner and more aggressive.
A couple of interesting mechanics were revealed that helps with the immersion and flow of the game. When zombies grab you, there is now the ability to smash a button repeatedly in a QTE style to shake the zombie off quicker and in doing so you will take less damage.

A new Resident Evil 3 Remake livestream has been recently revealed and it featured some new mechanics as well as a fresh new look at some of the things that we already know about the game.
The game will continue to have the over-the-shoulder point-of-view like that of Resident Evil 2. This is seen in the livestream with Jill at the Redstone Subway Station. This gives the game a claustrophobic feel.
The game will also come with boxes that come with items like bullets and other supplies. This was not available in Resident Evil 2 Remake. The boxes can be easily broken, even with Jill’s combat knife which seems to be durable enough.
We also get to see the visual makeover of the game. Its Resident Evil world look is much more aggressive, scarier and meaner.
Some interesting mechanics shared were that of being able to shake-off a zombie who has grab hold of you by repeatedly hitting the QTE buttons. In turn, your character will only incur less damage.
A dodge mechanic has also been added to put that much-needed space between you and a zombie or even a bunch of them. This will give you extra time to think about what you will be doing as your next move.
Check your surroundings for exploding barrels as these should help you win very hard situations. This is not a new mechanic but it sure is helpful.
Storage boxes are found scattered around the map if you don’t have enough space in your inventory (which usually is the case) you can store some of your items here.
Resident Evil 3 is not something completely new as it continues from the Resident Evil 2 Remake. There had been a few added mechanics, but the overall look and feel are the same. At the end of the livestream we get to see Jill Valentine being killed by a zombie with her throat ripped out then the “You are Dead” screen appears.
Resident Evil 3 remake will be releasing on April 3, 2020, available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
