The next-gen upgrade for Resident Evil 3 has been announced by Capcom, but they were not able to announce when it will be available for the PS5 and Xbox Series.

However, it does look like it will be available very soon as a PEGI has already been set to the next-gen consoles.

It is stated on the website that the launch date is April 1, 2022, since it is already past that date, it possibly is just a placeholder date. But this could suggest that the game will be available soon, probably later this month just like what was done with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Resident Evil 3 is a part of the three RE games that will be getting next-gen updates this year. The other two games are Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 7. The updated games are using the “proprietary RE Engine” that comes with 3D audio, a high frame rate, and ray-tracing.

The PS5 version will also come with DualSense support which has haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Resident Evil 3 is currently available on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
