Scalebound Is Officially Canceled Cover

The highly awaited Xbox Exclusive game – Scalebound is officially canceled. This announcement is confirmed by Microsoft.

The official statement released by a representative of Microsoft says this:

After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound. We’re working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year, including Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves and other great experiences. Also according to other sources like Kotaku and Eurogamer, a reason for the cancellation is the “parting of ways” of Microsoft Studios and PlatinumGames. PlatinumGames has reportedly stopped working on the game before the end of 2016.

Eurogamer additionally reported that many of the development team’s senior members took a month long break forcefully. The devs were pressured by the heavy workload the project entails. Because of that, Scalebound is behind schedule with many issues with the game’s engine and way past overdue deadlines. This forces Microsoft to come to the decision to stop the work on the game.

Scalebound was introduced in the E3 2014 event. It was introduced with a stunning trailer. And since the announcement, the game’s release has been pushed back from “holiday 2016”, “2017” to the news of the game’s cancellation altogether.
