Like those found in Witcher 3, Mass Effect Andromeda planned “meaningful” side quests. Bioware received feedback from the Dragon Age Inquisition’s side quests and took this into consideration, sidequests and took this into consideration, said producer Fabrice Condominas in an interview with the PC Gamer.

“We are approaching the completionist aspect very differently because we’ve and learned a lot from Inquisition…but we’ve observed what other games have been doing, like the Witcher,” said Condominas.

Condominas also stresses that “bigger is not always better.” He also says that “side quests must be ‘meaningful’ in order to be impactful.” – something that is present in the Witcher 3 and is done very well. The Witcher 3’s side quests were praised by critics because it is most definitely awesome, some even say that those are actually more entertaining than the main quest of the game.

“And it was very important for us that the quality of scope doesn’t downgrade the quality of whatever you are doing there,” said Condominas.

Mass Effect Andromeda launches on March 21st and can be played on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
