The announcement of the Final Fantasy XIV newest expansion was made during the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Las Vegas. The game’s Director, Naoki Yoshida took to the stage and made the announcement for Stormblood as well as some information about the game’s 4.0 update.

Stormblood is the second expansion for the game. In this expansion, the setting is in Ala Mhigo and the main enemy is a man named Zenos. Mr. Yoshida further explains it as “The main concept is getting Ala Mhigo into Eorzean control from the Garlean Empire”.

With the expansion, new zones had been added to the game, your starting zone point is Rhalger’s Reach. Along with the introduction of the newest expansion were information about the 4.0 updates. The details had not been discussed but very valuable information had been announced.

Some of the information that had been announced was that there will be new jobs and new equipment. Also, an overhaul of the skill system will be seen, it will be recategorized and reassessed. The item inventory will be expanded and a level cap increase from 60 to 70 will be experienced.

With the release of the Stormblood expansion, it has been announced that the PS3 support will be canceled. Stormblood will also work best on a 64-bit rig but it can still run on 32-bit.

Final Fantasy Stormblood will be available by early summer of 2017 and can be played on PC and PlayStation 4.
