The Game Awards 2020 had been produced, moderated and hosted by Geoff Keighley. The same guy who is responsible for Gamescom: Opening Night Live. The games chosen per category are nominated by the media outlets and the winners are based on votes by the public.

Trailers for the Elder Scrolls Online, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1, Nier Replicant version no.1.22474487139 was featured as well as gameplay for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide and some information for the new season of Fall Guys.
