Tripwire Interactive shared the final Maneater Dev Diary before the game launches this month.

Get to play as a giant Bull Shark in this third-person open-world game, Maneater. You will be seeking revenge on Scaley Pete who is a shark hunter. He is the one responsible for your mother’s demise and the scars that you got when you were a pup.

This final dev diary presents the game like a documentary TV show. It has a narrator describing what the player is doing, just like when watching reality shows.

Watch the final Maneater Dev Diary below:

According to the dev diary, the game “provides light-hearted laughs as you are going through this game eating fish and people, growing and becoming a more powerful shark”.

A highlight in the dev diary is that your shark is customizable. Players are able to assign certain attributes or different skin patterns, making a very personalized shark.

Also, the humans in the game had to be realistic, so the developers used motion capture for this. You get to see this in the reactions on the human’s faces in the beach scene.

The combat too has been described as, “reminiscent of water-to-aerial combat, with position really important. You can choose to evade if a target is coming to attack you or you have this tail whip ability and if you can time it just right you can actually parry what they are doing to you, like stun or throw them off”.

We get to see spectacular animations and scenery as well as some brutal skills in the dev diary. Lastly, the devs said that maneater is the “perfect power trip”.

Maneater will be launching on May 22, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. there will also be a Nintendo Switch launch later this year.
