Is it necessary to present a game that is very popular with today’s youth?
One completely amazing thing about DOOM is that if you had a really stressful day at work or at home and you would want to let off steam, DOOM is a great stress-reliever.
You will start the game trapped in a base which is in full demonic invasion and as in any good self-respecting DOOM players, you must kill everything in sight.
The goal is not really clear when starting the game. The only clear thing about it is that you have to make your way through the hordes of demons in your way. Then you must unlock the satellite access to be able to do a scan of the base in order for you to proceed in the game.
Basically, the first mission acts like a tutorial, allowing you to familiarize yourself with your weapons and techniques.
Evidently, it is not very complicated, but the intro is really huge and it will lay the foundation of the game: that is to defeat enemies by shattering skulls, pulling out vertebral columns with bare hands.
Enough to have a great time discovering. The graphics are also very nice and the hardware needed to run the game is very reasonable, making DOOM within reach with the majority of people.
The games that we selected are based on different FPS-like games that closely resemble DOOM 2016.
DOOM is an FPS that has been with us since 1993. Like Duke Nukem which was released on 1991. It is quite difficult to renew these games, Duke Nukem last launched in 2013.
Doom is part of the oldest games and we will find in its entourage games like Quake and Duke Nukem, which are part of the precursors of the genre.
These games will be followed by many others, all from different or sometimes similar horizons, taking into account an imaginary universe or integrating history into ours.
In DOOM, the comparison that we will be taking into account is it’s FPS horror genre. This theme can be found in many games.
We can, of course, take into account games like Space Hulk Deathwing, Killing Floor 2, the well known Wolfenstein The New Order of the Wolfenstein Series, also among the previous greats with its first game released in 1981.
But we can also add games like the series of Call of Duty and their Zombie Mode or Metro 2033 and much more.
