Upcoming Shark Game Called Maneater Reveals Lore

Shark game Maneater has been introduced during PAX East 2020. Both the gameplay and story had been revealed.

According to Tripwire’s CEO John Gibson, “The premise of the game is that it’s a reality show called Maneaters, and it’s following our antagonist Scaly Pete.”

The game offers a third-person open-world where players would control a huge Bull Shark who wants to avenge his mother’s death. The killer is a shark hunter named Scaly Pete. The attack happened when you were young and it has left you disfigured. The cutscene looks like it had been taken from a horror film.

Offering a single-player RPG that comes with customization and stats that will evolve different parts of your body and improve its function. In time, you will get to be a humongous Megalodon.

You will start in the game as a helpless baby shark who is learning to survive and will eventually grow into a killing machine.

When you’ve grown, you get to wreak havoc in oceans, swamps, and waterways. Rip swimmers apart by tearing them limb from limb and give the people in the area a reason to fear you.

There will be seven regions available in the game, each will come with apex predators like alligators, killer whales, and giant squids. If you kill any of these predators, you will get to earn special skills. Also, additional rewards are yours when you kill the human bounty hunters.

To survive in the game, you will also have to eat other aquatic wildlife like fish and turtles as you would need their minerals, fats, and proteins. Players are also able to use their surroundings to have an advantage in combat, an example is to use a swordfish as a spear.

Maneater is set to launch on May 22, 2020 and is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A Nintendo Switch launch will also be available later this year.
