Wasteland 3 is the continuation of the story of Wasteland 2. The game will come with two major hubs. One of which is the city of Colorado Springs and the other is a Ranger Base that is like a quest hub.
The game’s campaign mode is different from the other Wasteland games. It will come with a two-player co-op for the main campaign. It will also have a multiplayer for the very first time.
What’s interesting about the co-op campaign is that progress in the game can still continue even though both parties are not online. What this means is that either of you can just drop in and out delaying the other’s advancement.
Another first for the game are vehicles that players can drive as well as use for storage. This comes with a vehicle customization feature that will let players modify their vehicles even mounting weapons to be used in combat.
The game’s combat is similar to its predecessor but it has an enhanced tactical turn-based system. An added feature is the team focused abilities that will give your players tactical skills. Another feature is the “Down-But-Not-Out” system that allows players to escape from near-death situations.
Wasteland 3 is the sequel to Wasteland 2 which is 2014’s Game of the Year. This kind of means that the game has to live up to the standards of the previous game.
Also, a backer beta had been started for the game on the 17th but there is no news as to when the beta will end, surely it would be just before the game’s launch.
The backer beta includes the first three hours of the game. What’s also great is that there are no non-disclosure agreements so beta testers are free to share their experience online. A disclaimer for the beta is that since it is a work in progress, it is subject to change.
