Just like the other games in the series, Crusader Kings will also start with an heir and must start a legacy to bring their house to glory.
Make sure that your dynasty would last through the ages. You will go through the middle ages experiencing pilgrimages, Viking raids, and peasant revolts. You are able to decide what to do, you can expand because of greed or even spread religion for your benefit. Your choice.
You must manage both your military and your kingdom. There are five types of lifestyles for you to adopt and different character traits to acquire. However, you must know what your traits are compatible with because if you go against it, it will become a problem for your kingdom in the future.
Get to research new technologies that are able to increase both your military presence of your wealth. Recruit mercenaries, units, and knights. Send out raids to other kingdoms and sell prisoners for ransoms.
Scheme against the other kingdoms by sending out agents that can dig dirt against the enemies that you are able to use for blackmail against them or use as a favor if you need it. You are also able to seduce for love or increase your political power.

The game comes in two editions. The first one is the Standard Edition which comes with the game only. The other one is the Royal Edition which will give you the game and everything that comes with the game’s pre-order bonus plus the Expansion pass, Fashion of the Abbasid Court, the first flavor pack first major expansion and the second flavor pack.
Preorders for the game will come with the Holy Roman Empire outfits for its commoners, warriors, and rules of Central Europe.
