This is something that a lot of the World of Warcraft fans are waiting for. As previously announced at BlizzCon 2017, the game’s “Classic” server will be opening. It is just now that Blizzard was able to make it official.

The World of Warcraft Classic will be bringing back the game to what it is originally which is version 1.12. It is the update known as “Drum of War” which launched in August of 2006. This will definitely be challenging but rest assured that the quality of life updates will be retained in the game.

The Classic version will be launching on August 27th and a closed beta is also available today. Those already subscribed can register here. Do understand though that registering in the closed beta only gives you the chance to join the beta and is not guaranteed. However, there are a lot of stress tests available throughout the summer so more betas could probably open.

The World of Warcraft Classic will be launching to celebrate the game’s 15th anniversary. In addition to this is a World of Warcraft 15th Anniversary Collector’s Edition which is roughly $115 USD. The Anniversary Collector’s Edition will be available on October 8th. This will come with in-game items plus a Ragnaros the Firelord statue plus Azeroth Map mouse mat.

If the classic game is not your thing, then maybe the 25-player raid with iconic bosses will catch your interest. Those who participate in the raid can earn an Obsidian Worldbreaker mount.
